Classification vs Management

There are a number of common questions which appear to have an impact on both aspects of template control.

FAQ Classification Management
Can the templates held in separate workbooks be given the same source name? Templates are classified independently of the workbooks within which they are held. Yes
What is the effect on the list of templates as presented to the user if those with identical source names come from different workbooks? Each workbook containing templates of the same source name will have the order of listing established for itself. The order of presentation in the final list will depend on which workbook was registered first, but they will be grouped together. Amendments to template references or original templates are always accessed individually. The fact that some templates with identical generic sources are stored in separate workbooks has no impact on this. A user can 'group delete' templates by either source name (which will remove all references irrespective of workbook) or by workbook
Must the templates in a single workbook also be given a single source name? No Mutiple sources within a single workbook are readily permitted, but the corollary to this is that there should be sound, practical management reasons for storing templates attributed to the same generic source in different workbooks. Otherwise, what is the point?
