Role of the PSU Sheet

The '-PSU' sheet stores certain information concerning the main template - including its name and source. When you first create (and Register) a template, the '-PSU' is presented to the designer for completion. It will appear as below.

The original role of this sheet was to carry information that got left behind with the copy process. Essentially this was the Page SetUp information (hence PSU), but it has since been expanded to include details of where to freeze panes and whether or not worksheet protection should be activated.

Name Description Permitted Values
Orientation The paper orientation when printed xlPortrait, xlLandscape
Fit to Pages Wide If the used range is too wide to be printed on a single sheet, this sets the maximum number of sheets in width that will be accepted for printing. If required, the printout will use a proportionately reduced font size. 1-20
Fit to Pages Tall As above but for the vertical dimension 1-100
Row to repeat on each page Limited to one row Number values 1-20
Column to repeat on each page Limited to one column Alpha values A-Z
Freeze Panes Row Set the row above which the window pane will be frozen. The default value is row 4. 4-25
Working Paper Protection Determines whether worksheet protection will be set to 'On' after the registration process has completed. Yes, No

Normally designers do not want other users accidentally changing their designs. The 'Hide this Template' button hides both the template and its associated '-PSU' sheet from view.
