The Two Part Template

EWP registered templates always comprise complementary pairs of worksheets.

Consider a simple template we have created for the purpose of this description. The template itself is a standard worksheet with the background colour/pattern for all cells set to white, so it looks blank. Additionally we have posted the test 'Return to Index' in cell F3. This describes the reference A002, which will automatically be generated in Cell H3 when we register a new working paper. We have called the worksheet 'R-to-I-Blank'. See below.

This is the primary template and the one you want to amend when changes are required.

The process of Registering a template also automatically creates complementary worksheet called 'R-to-I-Blank-PSU'. This records the name of the template, its source and various other properties. See below.

Some of these details (the template name and source) are also recorded in your copy of the EWP software as a reference to the template. It is this information that shows in the drop down when you select a template.
