There are occasions where for speed and convenience, it is useful to add more than one piece of evidence to the Audit Evidence Index. EWP permits the entry of any number of pieces of evidence.

Let us assume that we have a 5th piece of evidence that comprises

• a Title Page, and
  
• 14 numbered pages
  

We can create a reference to the Title page in the normal way but to generate the individual pages we can adopt the following procedure.

• Click
  
• Select My 5th Piece of Evidence - Title Page - to ensure that the series of evidence is a sub-set of the Title Page
  
• Select the 'Add a numbered series of Working Papers' option button
  

Note that there is a new set of text boxes to complete.

Complete -

• the number of Working Papers you want to create
  
• the start number - the default is set at 1
  
• the text before the number
  
• the text after the number (optional)
  

This will generate a list of entries in the Documentary Evidence Index as shown below.

Remarks

When you create a numbered series only the first item has automated references generated for it. Others have to be manually generated using the Insert Cross Reference function .
