There are numerous occasions where individual pieces of evidence are very closely associated with each other and there are advantages in demonstrating that association within the indexing. EWP provides for a second layer of documentary evidence.

Let us say we have a third piece of evidence but we also have a fourth piece which is closely related to the third.

We can show the close relationship between the 2 pieces within the references - see above.

The procedure is as follows

• Select the third piece of evidence from the list in the appropriate drop down
• Enter the name of the fourth piece of evidence in the usual text box
