Access to the Cross Reference functionality (whether internal or external) is available from the ACBA shortcut tool bar.

This activates a user form that can be used to insert a cross reference into to the active cell of the worksheet. There are two separate types of cross reference - standard and bi-directional. Both can be generated from the same user form.

EWP project cross references are always easy to identify because they are in bold, red type and underlined - as shown below.
