| Templates - Introduction |
Since a template is a worksheet (not a whole workbook like an *.xlt file i.e. a standard Microsoft Excel template) any individual workbook can hold large numbers of templates. This also means that there has to be a more convenient way of naming and classifiying templates.
Within the context of an EWP Project templates are identified by the name of the template source (its generic name) and its specific name (its species).

To give the user even greater flexibility, templates can be held in several workbooks. This is particularly important, where for management control reasons, you want all the templates associated with a specific type of project held in one place but separately from more generally used templates.
Each EWP user has control over the templates registered on his or her own copy of the EWP Project software.
The name of each template, its source and certain other details (e.g the position of the freeze panes rows, whether the worsheet should be 'protected') are carried in a second associated worksheet known as a 'PSU' sheet.
